You may have asked yourself already "Hey, you guys have been offline for nearly half a year. What did you guys do in the meantime? The page still looks the same"?
Well, let me explain. We didn't work the entire time on GSS. We started a tiny project call "Lumen-Panel". We used our previous gameserver daemon (which manage and handles server and console) and implemented it into our own "Gameserver Control Panel"
During the development of our panel, we learned alot about hosting. We used the time to fix some critical bugs.
We replaced our old method of installing servers. We previously ran a cronjob every 15 seconds, which copied all necessary files (binarys, configs, libraries). This took up alot of harddrive space, that sucks. We're now using a self coded worker in combination with RabbitMQ, which allows us to react nearly realtime, and instead of copying every single time, we're now using symlinks. That means we only need to create the necessary config files for each server, that's all.
Every server is now hosting it's own MySQL server. We previously made a big mistake and hosted all databases on the server, which took alot of memory, cpu (and latency). Oh, and we upgraded to MariaDB.
We also improved alot on our backend and alot more. We completely switched to the PHP Framework Symfony 3 and stopped using Shyim's CodaFrame, Two people joined our team (Toxsi, Sledgehammer). Full team list:
